Light at the end of the tunnel

After spending several hours searching for a Whale Shark from our boat. We had one last attempt at finding the ocean's biggest fish. 

Our skipper, abundant with knowledge of the local area. Instructed me to investigate a giant, stationary bait ball which appeared to have no predators on it. 

After a few minutes of investigating, I heard excited calls from the boat instructing me to swim in the direction of what they believe to be a Whale Shark. 

I began following the Whale Shark as it swam the parameter of the thick bait. 

Suddenly, it began to dive down. Instinctively I took a big breath and followed close behind. 

The shark and I moved down through the bait, the light began to fade and all went dark. I could just make out the sharks big tail as it swept through the bait. 

Getting close to my breath running out, I decided to hold on for just a bit longer. 

What followed was one of the most breath taking sights I had ever witnessed underwater. 

As the Whale Shark descended through the end of the bait fish, the fleeing fish moved around the body of the shark creating a perfect tunnel of fish. The light began to burst through the gaps made in the tunnel creating enough light for me to capture this moment. 

A moment I could never have imagined.
